The church emphasizes building meaningful relationships, maturing as disciples, promoting biblical doctrine, and serving through faith, worship, witness, and service.
Our Values
Faith
We faithfully believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and look forward to His soon return. It is this faith that we strive to share with those we meet.
Worship
Our motives are to show reverence and honor to God in all we do. In recognizing Him as The Creator of the universe, we welcome opportunities to worship Him "in spirit and in truth".
Witness
Kansas City Central SDA Church has a strong focus on evangelism and sharing the good news about Jesus. We strive to accomplish this by first buidling meaningful realtionships with others.
Service
Connecting with the community through outreach efforts and programs is a vital part of our church ministry.
Our Beliefs
At Kansas City Central Seventh-day Adventist Church we believe that sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and His soon return is our greatest commission. We acknowledge that God is giving a special, imminent warning message He wants the entire world to hear and understand. This message is found in Revelation 14:6-16 and is just as important for our world to act upon today, as Noah's warning message was in his day. Our distinct mission is to share this "everlasting gospel" message to "every nation, kindred, tribe, tongue, and people". Additioanally, we believe in:
A Sovereign God
Our faith is based in God as revealed through Jesus Christ and as shown through the Bible, inspired by the Holy Spirit.
(Gen. 1:1; Rev. 4:11; 1 Cor. 15:28; John 3:16)
Faith
Adventists value a trusting faith in God and having a personal relationship with Him.
(Philippians 1:20-30; 1 Thess. 5:8; Matt 6:30)
The Bible
The Bible presents the essential truth about God. The Holy Spirit inspired human writers to reveal the true character of God.
(2 Peter 1:20-21; Ps. 119:105; Isa 8:20; John 17:17; Heb. 4:12)
The Gospel
The "gospel" is the good news that salvation is received by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ.
(Matt 4:23; Rom. 10:15; 1 Peter 4:1-7)
Creation
Creator of the Universe, God the Father and Jesus His Son formed our world in six days, and created the first man and woman.
(Gen. chpt. 1 & 2; Ps. 19:1-6; Heb. 11:3)
The Sabbath
The seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) is given as a reminder of the God who both creates and saves, and is the day God invites all to worship Him.
(Exod. 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Matt. 12:1-12; Mark 1:32)
Life After Death and The Future
Adventists follow Jesus in identifying those who die as sleeping. Those who have trusted God are raised to life when Jesus returns, and look forward to a wonderful future -- eternal life in God’s presence.
(Rom. 6:23; Eccl. 9:5, 1 Cor. 15:51-54; John 5:28, 29; Rev. 20:1-10)
Baptism and Commitment
Those who choose to follow a life committed to God and his commands, demonstrate their belief through baptism (being immersed in water), following the example of Jesus.
(Matt. 28: 19-20; Rom. 6:1-6; Acts 16:30-33)
Second Coming
Adventists look forward to the soon return (advent) of Jesus Christ as prophesied and as He Himself promised.
(Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28; Rev. 1:7; Mark 13; 1 Thess. 5:1-6)
